Roadworks are currently taking place on the A9 in the Drumochter area.

Road bosses have said that roadworks on the A9 north of Drumochter have been paused due to bad weather.

BEAR Scotland started carrying out essential road improvement works by the dual carriageway section in mid-June.

The work was due to be completed at the end of June and then by this Saturday (July 6).

But a BEAR Scotland spokesperson said: “No works will now take place between July 3 to 6 due to weather conditions.

“Works will resume Sunday (July 7) until the morning of Wednesday (July 10) between the hours of 7pm and 6am.”

During the works, the A9 single carriageway north of the Drumochter dualling will be subject to a traffic management system of temporary two-way traffic lights with convoy.

A reduced speed limit of 10mph will also be set-up on the approach to the site and traffic will be guided through the works by the convoy vehicle.

During non-working hours, the temporary traffic management measures will be lifted.

Throughout the day, a 30mph speed limit will be in effect as a temporary surface and ramps will be in use.

Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
