A9 drainage probe on Inverness section between Longman Roundabout and Raigmore Interchange delayed 24 hours due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’
A probe into drainage on a section of the A9 in Inverness has been delayed 24 hours due to unforeseen circumstances.
Although it has been pushed back from a scheduled start today to tomorrow, BEAR Scotland - which is doing the work on behalf of Transport Scotland - believes it will be finished by its original completion date of this Sunday.

The work will take place between Longman Roundabout and Raigmore Interchange.
It will take place between 7pm and 7am each night.
There will be lane closures during the work and these will be removed outwith working hours.
Motorists are being warned of lane closures on the A9 near Inverness for six nights for drainage investigations.
Access through the work site for emergency service vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s north-west unit representative said: “These drainage investigation works will provide valuable information regarding the drainage system and reduce the risk of flooding on the trunk road and adjacent local authority roads.
“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works.
“We encourage road users to plan ahead.”
