A9 traffic is flowing freely again on the Black Isle after a fallen tree was cleared from the road.

The busy trunk route had been blocked earlier on Thursday morning after the tree came down on a section of the route around three miles north of the Tore roundabout.

The partial blockage had prompted Traffic Scotland to urge motorists to find an alternative route while police and road engineers headed to the scene.

But in a further update just before 8am, Traffic Scotland confirmed that the blockage had now been removed and the route was clear.
