A82 still partially blocked near Urquhart Castle and Drumnadrochit but expected to reopen tomorrow
The A82, near Urquhart Castle, is still partially blocked following a landslide shortly after midday on Tuesday.
Temporary traffic lights have been in place after mud and debris fell onto the the northbound lane, partially blocking the route, around one mile from the castle.
Motorists have been warned to expect delays while work continues to remove around 60 tonnes of material.
Police were initially alerted but the incident is now being coordinated by BEAR Scotland.
A BEAR Scotland spokesperson today said: “BEAR teams are continuing clearance operations today on the A82 south of Drumnadrochit, removing around 60 tonnes of material from the roadside, and anticipate that the road will reopen to both lanes tomorrow.
"Temporary traffic lights will remain in place until works have concluded and the road is deemed safe to reopen.
"We’d like to thank the travelling public for their patience whilst this essential work is in progress.”
