Man who sparked bomb scare at two Inverness premises pleads guilty
A man has admitted having deliberately sparked a bomb scare he knew to be false, at two commercial premises in Inverness.
Rory McCallum, from Thurso, pleaded guilty at Wick Sheriff Court on Wednesday and will be sentenced next month.
The 42-year-old passed a note to Yvonne McIver, an assistant at the Morrisons store in Millburn Road, stating that there was a bomb in the vicinity which was "liable to explode or ignite".
The same day, October 14, last year, McCallum, of Towerhill Road, Thurso, gave a similar, written warning to assistant Mia Pimm at the Audi premises in Harbour Road, and also spoke to her about it.
Sheriff Andrew Berry continued the case until March 31 when he will hear details of the offences and consider a background report before passing sentence.
