James Ketchell – It's All Mental! if you are planning to set what might feel like unattainable, goals? This talk might be worth popping along to at Eden Court on Friday March 31! The record-breaking aviator, adventurer and author James Ketchell is the only person on the planet to have climbed Everest, cycled around the world AND rowed an ocean, and will be sharing his experiences.

2 Acid house or sludge – your choice ...

Two super-contrasting nights of music arrive on Saturday with either the Acid Ultras who will be in Inverness on Saturday, April 1 appearing at Upstairs with DJ Ryz and DJ X from 10 pm till late. Tickets £5! They were formed in 2019 out of a mutual love of Acid House music. The band have released several tracks, most recently on the world renowned Optimo Music and have played blistering sets at Riverside Festival, Playground Festival, La Cheetah Club & Club 69. Their sound is characterised by classic acid rhythms, driving 303 with house vocals on top. For 18 +. Or take it dark and heavy with Fuzzness – Chapter One eight stoner, doom and Sludge bands head into Tooth & Claw Saturday April 1 from 4pm. For 18+. 3 Concert with cake

Chilling out this Sunday afternoon with Accordion Too: Cake & Concert at Inverness Cathedral, you start with cake at 3pm (tea or coffee) as local musicians James Ross (clarinets) and Robert Wallace (accordion and piano) play popular classics, waltzes, tangos and Klezmer.

4 Go on, have a laugh ...

Stand-up Susie McCabe's first Highland date is at Eden Court on Saturday on her extensive tour of the North, Femme Fatality. That night's sold out, sadly. But the great news is dates are still available, the first in Ullapool on Monday, April 3 at The Arch Inn, from 7.30pm (14+ and U16s with an adult). Susie is back in Wick, Aviemore, Kingussie and Nairn.

5 Couple of 'don't miss' options...

With puppetry and Yann Martel's amazing story, it's worth thinking of catching National Theatre Live: Life Of Pi (12A) on a cinema screen from the spectacular performance filmed live in the West End. After a cargo ship sinks in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, a 16-year-old boy is stranded on a lifeboat with four survivors – one, a Royal Bengal tiger. From Thursday, March 30 (tonight) and two more performances, one on Sunday and the last on Tuesday, April 4, various times, at Eden Court. Also at the theatre, still time to catch Inverness Musical Theatre's sparkling 80s cheesefest The Wedding Singer until Saturday.
