34 new Covid-19 coronavirus cases logged in NHS Highland area in the past 24 hours

A total of 34 more Covid-19 cases have been confirmed across the NHS Highland area over the past 24 hours.

A total of 1195 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported across the country.

19,339 new tests for the virus reported results and 7.4 per cent of these were positive.

Sadly, one new death of a person who tested positive was also recorded though this may not capture all new deaths as register offices are generally closed at weekends.

A total of 157 people are in intensive care with recently confirmed Covid-19.

The figures show that 2011 people are in hospital with recently confirmed infections.

There was one new infection logged in the Western Isles but no increase in Orkney or Shetland.

In Grampian 126 more cases were recorded.

The biggest single-day rise was in Greater Glasgow and Clyde where there were 363 more cases.

And 404,038 people have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination – with 5383 having received their second dose.
