Three people were taken to hospital after a serious three-vehicle crash west of Inverness this morning.

A 69-year-old biker was taken by ambulance to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness then later transferred to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where staff described his condition as stable.

He was riding a Honda NC750X which was involved in a crash with a Vauxhall Vectra, a Vauxhall Corsa on the A862 near Kirkhill at around 11.10am today.

A 77-year-old man, who was the driver of the Vauxhall Vectra, and a 31-year-old woman, who was driving the Vauxhall Corsa, were both taken to Raigmore Hospital.

Sergeant Douglas Scott said: “Our investigation to establish the cause of the crash is ongoing and I urge anyone who witnessed it take place to contact us.

“If you were driving on this road around the time of the crash and have any information or have dashcam footage that may assist, please get in touch.”
