Further bus cancellation misery will hit passengers in Inverness on Tuesday after Stagecoach announced more than 20 journeys have been axed due to staff shortages.

Services 1 and 3 are the worst affected, after the bus operator confirmed that 22 timetabled journeys have been cancelled.

In an update shortly before 5am on Tuesday, Stagecoach Highland confirmed that 14 journeys on route 1, which covers Dalneigh to Balloch, will not run today.

Eight buses on service number 3, which runs between Craig Dunain and Culloden/Oakdene will also not operate.

The 6.35am number 6 bus between Queensgate and Drakies/Hilton also did not operate.

The latest cancellations follow a spate of disruption to services across the city.

Indeed, just yesterday, nearly 40 separate journeys were cancelled due to the same issues.

Announcing the latest cancellations, Stagecoach Highland said: "Due to driver availability the following services are unable to operate. Apologies for any inconvenience caused."
