POLICE stopped a 39-year-old van driver in Inverness and found more than £21,000 worth of cannabis and £5400 in cash.

Inverness Sheriff Court was told that officers had received a tip-off about Andrew Bell's vehicle and intercepted it in Clachnaharry on July 1, 2019.

Inside were almost 100 items like tins, bags and tubs, containing the drug. The weight was not calculated in court for Sheriff Robert Frazer.

Bell, of Milton Crescent, Inverness, admitted possessing the drug with intent to supply.

Sentence was deferred until June 7 for a background report and a restriction of liberty assessment.
