A 16-year-old male has been charged in connection with the theft of a defibrillator from Church Street.

The life-saving equipment was taken on June 30, leading to an appeal from Inverness BID requesting it be returned.

However, although the person has been charged, the defib machine is still missing.

Inverness BID is now asking that it be returned — which can be done anonymously, no questions asked.

John McDonald, community safety manager at Inverness BID said: “Unfortunately, the defibrillator has not been recovered and Inverness BID would welcome any information on its current whereabouts or indeed if it were to be returned or handed in somewhere with a message to BID so it can be collected would suffice.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: “A report will be forwarded to the relevant authorities and enquiries remain ongoing.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference CR/244000/24 or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
