An Inverness bookseller has launched its first book club.

Nessie Novels, which is based in Oldtown Place, has announced that this month’s book is A Darkness of Dragons by S A Patrick.

As well as the book, participants will receive a bookmark, a notebook to write their reviews in and chocolate, all for an introductory fee.

A spokesman said: “This month’s novel is one I have wanted to read for ages, and the second novel in the series has not long been released.”

The book is set in a world of dragons, song-spells, pipers and battles and centres on Patch Brightwater who is in disgrace and has been thrown in jail for playing a forbidden spell – he is no one’s idea of a hero.

It also features the evil Pied Piper of Hamelin, who is on the loose, and Wren who is cursed to live as a rat.
