BEATTIE - Peacefully and at home in Inverness, on Monday 22nd February 2021, Dr Alan R Beattie, 87 years. Born and educated in Aberdeen, he spent many years happily retired at Kilmorack, and previously as an academic in Cardiff, Nairobi, and Dallas, Texas. The husband of 62 years to Donalda (Boa), he was delighted to have been a father and a grandfather, an expert in semiconductor physics, a Gordonians rugby player and the owner of an ancient Ferguson tractor. A private funeral service will be held on Thursday 4th March at 3.00 pm in the Funeral Home of William T Fraser and Son, Culduthel Road, Inverness and can be viewed at www.williamtfraserandson.co.uk/live-stream. The family are planning a full celebration of his life at a later date.
