Special thanks are due to the staff in St Olaf's Nairn for their exceptional care in the last 3 months of Peter's life and also to all those who cared for Peter when he was still living independently. SUTHERLAND - William George Mackenzie (Edinburgh). It is with great sadness we announce that William George Mackenzie Sutherland (Former Chief Constable, Lothian and Borders Police) passed away on 30th May, 2022, at St John's Hospital Livingston. He was a devoted husband to his wife Jennie, and loving father to his daughters Anne and Alison. A passionate Scotsman who loved the mountains, he will be very much missed by all his family and friends. The funeral will take place at Balerno Parish Church, Edinburgh at 1pm on Monday, 20th June, 2022, to which all friends and family are warmly invited. KNIGHT - Muriel Knight, passed away peacefully, after a short illness, at Ayr Hospital on 2nd June, 2022, surrounded by her family. Muriel, beloved wife of the late William, mother to Eric, Shirley and Hazel and much loved grandmother to Lorraine, Jennifer and Fiona. Muriel was the heart of her family and will always be remembered and greatly missed.
