CALEY Thistle have signed striker Adam Rooney from Stoke City on a three-year contract.
Rooney played in the clubs pre-season tour in Denmark where he scored twice. He also played against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Manager Craig Brewster said: "I am delighted to have finally secured Adam after a patient wait to get the deal done. He looked impressive for us during the Denmark pre-season trip and I am confident he will do well over the duration of his three year deal."
Rooney said: "I am really pleased to be here after enjoying my time with the squad in Denmark. I am desperate to prove myself at SPL level and can't wait to get playing."
Adam was born in Dublin and joined English side Stoke City at the age of 17 in 2005. He made his debut the following January against Tamworth in the FA Cup and scored a hat-trick on his league debut against Brighton.
He spent time on loan at Yeovil Town at the end of the 2006/07 season before been placed at Chesterfield Town for the following season, where he scored six goals in eleven league starts.
For the second part of the 2007/08 season he spent time on loan at Bury where he made ten starts in the league, scoring three goals.
