A BUSINESSWOMAN who wounded a female guest with a champagne flute at a charity event has had her jail sentence halved.
Judges at the Court of Criminal Appeal in Edinburgh ruled the 18-month prison term imposed on Deborah Morren should be reduced to nine months.
Morren (54) of Broadbank, Muir of Ord, had admitted attacking Gail MacDonald at a Highland Hospice fundraiser in Inverness’s Drumossie Hotel on October 30, 2016.
After throwing the contents of her glass at the victim she struck her with the champagne flute, leaving her requiring stitches for facial injuries.
