Inverness brothers both finish on podium in opening Scottish Rally Championship round

DAVID Bogie came from behind to claim victory at the Speyside Stages as the 2024 Scottish Rally Championship started in Moray.

The Dumfries driver, along with Portglenone co-driver John Rowan, came out on top to win the first rally of the competition.

Last year’s Speyside Stages winner Finlay Retson of Blairgowrie, along with Inverness co-driver Paul Beaton, finished in second place.

Duns driver Euan Thorburn along with Inverness co-driver Keir Beaton completed the podium as they finished in third place.

Bogie, driving a Volkswagen Polo, completed all nine stages of the course in a overall time of 38 minutes and 14 seconds.

He was 19 seconds ahead of Retson, who was driving a VW Polo GTI R5 and was in front in the early stages of the rally, before finishing in second place who finished in 38:33.

Thorburn, driving a VW Polo R5, claimed third place in a time of 38:43.
