Highland Rugby Club players selected for Caledonia Reds in Inter District Championship

EIGHT players from Highland Rugby Club have been selected for the Caledonia Reds squad for the Inter District Championship.

Callum Carson, Gordon Gregor, Magnus Henry, Calum MacPherson, Adriu Muritoki, Stephen Murray, Hugo Crush and Scott Fraser, along with former player Fionnlagh Coll have been selected in the 32-man squad.

Caledonia Reds will defend their title against Edinburgh, Glasgow and The West, as well as The South, in the tournament which takes place during March and April.

This year, the tournament will take the form of a round robin format.

The match are as below.

• Edinburgh v The South – Stoneyhill, Musselburgh, Saturday, March 23 (kick off 3pm)

• Glasgow & the West v Caledonia Reds – Braidholm, Glasgow, Saturday, March 23 (kick off 3pm)

• Edinburgh v Caledonia Reds – Raeburn Place, Edinburgh, Saturday, March 30 (kick off 3pm)

• The South v Glasgow & the West – Poynder Park, Kelso, Saturday, March 30 (kick off 3pm)

• Glasgow & the West v Edinburgh – Braidholm, Glasgow, Saturday, April 6 (kick off 3pm)

• Caledonia Reds v The South – Canal Park, Inverness, Saturday, April 6 (kick off 3pm)

Caledonia Reds Head Coach Colin Sangster said: “We are delighted to announce our 32 man squad for the forthcoming Inter district championship.

" There are quite a few returning players from last year, however we have included several new players this season, from all over the region, giving them an opportunity to show what they can do at this level.

“To be included in the squad is a reward for high levels of performance at club level, and it’s up to the players to push on and challenge themselves in the competitive environment of district rugby.”
