Ross County interim manager Don Cowie felt super-sub Jordan White typified the character his squad have shown to come from behind to win in successive home matches.

Having beaten Rangers last time out in Dingwall, the Staggies fell behind to Myziane Maolida’s tap in with 15 minutes on the clock.

Simon Murray quickly capitalised on a Rocky Bushiri error to equalise though, and White came off the bench to score an 88th minute winner.

Cowie was delighted with the impact his substituted had on the match, with fellow sub George Harmon teeing White after making a good interception, and says it is evidence of the prevailing attitude currently in Dingwall.

“I felt it was a very open game, and both teams had plenty of opportunities,” Cowie explained.

“We probably should have scored more between us, but we’re in a situation where we want to win football matches.

“We’re on a really good run at home, and credit to Jordan for coming on and scoring the winning goal.

“I wouldn’t expect anything else. I’ve got a squad with plenty of options, so I always pick a team to start that I feel will get us a result we need, then it’s about the subs coming on and going their job.

“I’m sure there are a lot of people who are frustrated, but it’s not about the individual, it’s about the group. That’s the mindset we need to achieve what we want to achieve.

“The last three games, we’ve taken nine points from Hearts, Rangers and Hibs.

“Credit to the players, it’s them who are going out and putting on performances, and I’ve never felt we have fluked a victory.

“A lot has been made of the fact that we haven’t manged to turn games around when we’ve gone behind, but there are different ways to win.

“We have to work for everything we get in this league, and the players showed their character again. I don’t think we had come from behind to win for a long time, so to do it two games in-a-row at home is great.”

There was an incident in the first half when Yan Dhanda reported something said by the travelling Hibs fans to the referee, who then made sure a note was taken.

Cowie was not too sure of the specifics of what happened, but did confirm some sort of incident had taken place.

“All I know at this moment in time is that there was an alleged comment made that Yan made, and that was reported to the referee,” Cowie explained.

“I believe it was a comment made from the away support.

“Beyond that, I’m not sure, I’m waiting to hear what happened.

“I don’t know the nature of the comment. The fact that he has highlighted it to the referee shows there’s something he wasn’t happy with, but I’m waiting to find out the full details.”
