Invernessian’s seem unfazed following today’s announcement from the Scottish Government regarding Humza Yousaf’s resignation.

Exactly one year and one month on from taking office as First Minister, Humza Yousaf resigned after it became clear his position had become politically untenable.

Mr Yousaf was forced out when he lost support across the Scottish Parliament and was facing two motions of no confidence.

Mr Yousaf said: “I underestimated the hurt and upset I caused our Green colleagues.”

Following this announcement The Inverness Courier took to the streets of the city centre to ask the general public what they thought about Humza Yousaf’s resignation, and the result was fairly unfazed.

Majority of people weren’t aware of the First Minister’s resignation and said they ‘would not miss him’.

One person said: “I’ve not got the time to think about it, and I won’t miss him as I didn’t know him well enough.”

Another person added: “Resigning was the best thing he ever did and I won’t miss him.”

Overall most people didn’t have a political opinion on the matter.
