A CHARITY supporting sufferers of muscular dystrophy is holding a fundraising dinner at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness today.

Leo’s Pride was launched two years ago by Louise Flett and her husband Mitchell to support their son and others suffering from the muscle wasting condition.

Mrs Flett was named community champion by Muscular Dystrophy UK at the Scottish Inspire Awards last year.

This will be the group’s second fund-raising dinner.

Last year around 250 people attended and helped raise the amazing sum of £11,500 for the charity.

This year’s event has been called Pride 2.

“We have more than140 guests this year but there are many other worthy charities busy fundraising and although our numbers are down we are still looking forward to a good night,” said Mrs Flett who visits local schools to talk about her son’s condition and has rallied community support in the battle against the disease.

As well as the dinner, guests can take part in an auction and enjoy music from live band The Shire.

Tickets are available by calling 07816 237665.
