Is this a new photograph of the Loch Ness Monster?
A keen photographer has come across a picture in his holiday snaps of, what some are saying is, the Loch Ness Monster.
The snap taken last September, by Steve Challice of Southampton, near to Urquhart Castle on the banks of Loch Ness, shows a something large in the water.
The photographer, who posted his pictures on a phenomenon Facebook group, said he believed it was a "big fish".
But others commenting on the post said they believed it to be the Loch Ness Monster.
On social media Mr Challice was sceptical when commenting on his own picture. He said: "I started taking a couple of shots and then this big fish came to the surface and then went back down again."
He initially thought it was a catfish, and posted the photo online to ask for help in identifying it.
"It only appeared in one shot and to be honest that was something of a fluke. I watched for a while as you can see from the last picture but didn't see it again."
He said it was only during lockdown that he has had time to look through the photos.
He continued: "I have to say I don't believe in the Loch Ness Monster and frankly I think if anything is there then there is a logical explanation for most of the sightings."
He estimated that it was 30ft away and about 8ft long.
