Sir, Two music festivals have recently taken place in our area where large crowds have gathered.

Within days of each other we had RockNess at Dores and then the Luis Palau Highland Festival at the Bught Park — an event where music from a variety of Christian rock bands was accompanied each evening by a Gospel message.

I was quite struck by the picture on the front page of the Courier (16.6.09) of the rubbish-strewn site at Dores in the aftermath of RockNess. Litter and abandoned tents everywhere — quite an appalling, chaotic sight.

In stark contrast, not one single piece of litter or debris could be seen at the Bught Park immediately following the final evening of the Luis Palau Highland Festival. It was hard to believe that there had been such a large crowd on the park.

Two music festivals — but two vastly different cultures when it comes to considering the interests and concerns of fellow human beings.
