“I am really pleased to have agreed a new contract with the club," Munro said. "To be playing SPL football for my hometown team has been like a dream come true and my career has gone better than I could have imagined.”
Manager Craig Brewster was delighted to have secured the services of Munro, whose contract was due to expire next summer.
"As club captain he is a vital part of my team and the negotiations have gone very smoothly with him," Brewster said. "This news will give everyone at the club a lift and he continues to be a player that all local youngsters can aspire to.”
Inverness-born Munro successfully progressed through the youth ranks and made his debut as a substitute in the Scottish Cup in January 1999. He has since gone on to make 248 appearances for the side.
The scorer of ICT’s 1000th competitive goal last season, he was made captain at the start of the 2007/08 season following the departure of former central defensive partner Darren Dods.
