I HAVE recently received this letter - and wonder if you would be able to publish it in hopes that I can find an answer. Letter as follows:

advertising

"Dear Mrs Seward, I saw in the paper that you were involved with the WRAC (Women's Royal Army Corps) movement in Perth (Australia).

“Thus, could you please help me to find a WRAC I met in Singapore in 1951 -1952. Her name was HELEN MONICA WEIR from Inverness in Scotland. I was very fond of her and still am and would like to meet her again.

“My name is Joe, I was a former Tin Miner from Kota Tinggi - Malaysia. I am very fond of the Tennessee Waltz. I live in Applecross.(A suburb of Perth).

“Yours sincerely, Joe."

As you can see, there was no address given, nor did he add his surname, so I am waiting until the promised phone call to find these details.

In the meantime, if this could be published and Helen is still alive and sees this letter and would like to communicate with Joe, she can contact me - details below.

Maybe, Helen is no longer with us, but someone does know of her. I would like to hear of her so that I can pass any information on to Joe.

Joyce Seward, Unit 32, 6 Sepia Court, Rockingham, Western Australia 6168. Tel: (08) 95278825. Email: jeseward@optusnet.com.au
