But instead of coming via the time-travelling Tardis, eleventh Doctor Matt Smith and Miss Gillan will be making their journey to Inverness by bus. The city is the second stop on a UK wide tour that will introduce the new Tardis team live to lucky viewers ahead of the screening of the first series starring Mr Smith's Eleventh Doctor at Easter. The Doctor Who tour bus will arrive in Inverness on the morning of Tuesday 30th March when local children will have a chance to see the Scottish premiere of episode one, "The Eleventh Hour", and get a first look at the new Doctor in action.
The three-day jaunt will also include stops in Belfast, the first destination on the tour, Sunderland and Salford, before concluding in Matt Smith's home town of Northampton the day after its Highland Capital visit. "This is a great opportunity for the new Doctor and his companion to interface directly with the people who matter most to Doctor Who: the fans," series executive producer Piers Wenger said. "The chance to visit them in their home towns will ensure that the eleventh Doctor's maiden voyage is an utterly magical one." Related articles: |
