A9 partially closed after ‘serious’ accident in Highlands south of Inverness

A SECTION of the A9 has been closed following a serious accident in the Highlands.

The main trunk route through the Highlands has been the scene of another accident, this one on the A9 at the Slochd junction, according to police.

Police Scotland officers are currently dealing with the incident.

The north bound carriageway is completely closed with one lane of the southbound carriageway also closed.

The public are advised to avoid the area and seek an alternative route.

The restrictions will be in place “for an indefinite period of time”, according to police.

Traffic Scotland reported the closure of the northbound carriageway at around 9.37pm this evening.
