ROSS County have agreed a short-term deal with American goalkeeper Chris Konopka.

Manager Jim McIntyre requires cover for the injured Scott Fox and hopes to have Konopka's international clearance through in time for Sunday's League Cup Final with Hibernian.

Konopka was most recently with MLS side Toronto FC where he was released in December and had been training with DC United at their pre-season camp.

He has also featured for Philadelphia Union and New York Red Bulls, while the 30-year-old made brief appearances for Irish sides Sporting Fingal and Waterford United.

Regular number one Fox faces two months on the sidelines after damaging medial ligaments against Dundee United on February 27. Gary Woods, on loan from Leyton Orient, has stood in for the former Partick Thistle stopper and will start Sunday's showpiece at Hampden Park.

Development League goalkeeper Mark Foden has been on the bench for the last two games.
