THE COMPANY behind the proposed wind farm near Daviot has pledged to provide funding up to £130,000 a year to the Inverness College UHI and the University of Highlands and Islands.

West Coast Energy say the money would be used to improve access to vocational education for students and would be the first project in the Highlands to directly invest in education and skills across the region.

The proposal, which is to shortly come before Highland Council, includes a plan for a community turbine where people from Strathnairn and Strathdearn could become part owners of the wind farm and money would be used to fund numerous local projects.
