Apprenticeships on offer at Highland Council

By Andy Dixon

Councillors have found money to stop cuts to classroom assistant postsSIX apprenticeships for are up for grabs at Highland Council.

The vacancies with the authority’s housing and property team include plumbing, electrical, joinery, building or painting.

The four-year positions are based across the region.

"It is particularly important to try and maintain the levels of training despite the current economic situation affecting our local construction sector," said Steve Barron, director of the council’s housing and property department.

"This will help to ensure that a skilled workforce is available for the future.".
