A MAN has been charged in connection with the serious assault of a woman in her home.

A 54-year-old is expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today following the assault of a 45-year-old in Ballifeary Road.

Paramedics were called to the semi-detached house just after 11.30pm on Sunday following an emergency call.

Neighbours woke on Monday to see police vehicles outside the property and police tape cordoning off the garden.

Forensic officers spent several hours examining the house.
