INVERNESS’ midnight curfew has earned it the title of "Cinderella City."
As part of a promotional campaign by Tennent’s Lager to celebrate the culture of Scotland’s six cities, it invited locals to define their communities.
Six bespoke pint glasses containing the chosen phrases have been created — one for each city — and will be available in pubs and bars from this week.
Among the quotes making it on to the Inverness glass is "Cinderella City" — in reference to the city’s curfew, which prevents people entering larger pubs and clubs after midnight.
Others include "the country city", "a 15-minute rush hour", and "partying even when we lose."
Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Terry Butcher’s quote — "Inver-air-ness, where the air makes you feel better" — has also made it on the glass.
"By handing our glass over to the people of Inverness we hope to have painted a picture of the city that reflects how they see themselves, along with all the quirks that make Inverness unique and its people great," said a spokeswoman for Tennent’s
A total of 20,000 limited edition glasses have been produced.
