A hospitality and catering company is staging a free cake day during the Cuppa For Kids week.
All the outlets in the Drumnadrochit-based Cobbs group will provide cake for customers buying a cup of tea or coffee and invite them to make a donation to the appeal.
The offer, on Thursday 8th September, will be at the company's cafes at Highland Industrial Supplies on the Longman Industrial Estate, Inverness; the Inverness Floral Hall; Loch Ness Clansman Hotel; Nevis Sport in Fort William; Cafe Bleu in Aviemore and Sterling Furniture, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.
The Cobbs group makes more than 64,000 portions of cake each week for delivery all over Scotland and England. They include an award-winning oatie crunch, cranachan, featuring fresh raspberries and cream, and Highlland flapjack.
Director Fraser Campbell invited people to go along and sample some of the produce during the Cuppas For Kids day.
"We will not be charging for the cake but hope people will give generous donations," he said.
"We think the new children's ward is a necessity here in the Highlands. We want to do our bit for our local hospital."
