Tea and cakes turned out to be a perfect blend for The Inverness Courier's Cuppa For Kids event which raised more than £1000 for the Raigmore Children's Ward Appeal.
Hosted by the city's historic Royal Highland Hotel, the event attracted a steady stream of people who joined The Inverness Courier's editorial team for a cup of tea or coffee and refreshments.
Lib Dem Treasury minister Danny Alexander dropped in to buy raffle tickets and a chocolate cake from the baking stall while Highlands and Islands MSPs Rhoda Grant (Labour) and Mary Scanlon (Conservative) put aside their political differences to enjoy a refreshing brew together.
The chance to win some big prizes at The Inverness Courier's Cuppa For Kids event will be revealed tomorrow.
They include two return flights out of Inverness Airport while would-be sleuths have the chance to win tickets for murder mystery events in the city. More details will be revealed in tomorrow's edition of The Inverness Courier.
The Courier is inviting the public to drop in for a cup of tea or coffee and refreshments at the event being hosted by the Royal Highland Hotel in Station Square on Saturday 3rd September between 11am and 3pm.
WHAT could be simpler to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and raise money for the Raigmore Hospital's Children's Ward Appeal?
The Inverness Courier is challenging people in the area to do just that by joining in our Cuppa For Kids event in September. Whether you are a community organisation, business or group of friends, the idea is to hold a coffee morning or afternoon tea to raise money for the £1 million appeal launched by the ARCHIE Foundation and the Courier.
The week-long fund-raiser will kick off on Saturday 3rd September with the Courier's own Cuppa For Kids event at the Royal Highland Hotel next to Inverness railway station.
