First-time models, aged from 14 to 60-plus and ranging in dress size from six to 20, took to the catwalk at a hair and fashion show which raised £1400 for the Raigmore Children’s Ward Appeal.
The event, at the Kingsmills Hotel in Inverness, was organised by city salon Hair Directory along with fashion store Outfit.
The organisers were so delighted with the show they plan to hold another one in spring for the £1 million appeal which is now at the half-way stage.
One of the highlights of the fashion show was an avant-garde section featuring alternative looks. Models took to the catwalk wearing large wigs which were then dramatically removed to reveal bright red or purple contemporary haircuts beneath.
Linda Dick, a partner in Hair Directory based in Rosedene House, Drummond Crescent, described the entire event as "absolutely brilliant".
"It went much better than we had hoped for considering it was the first time we had done anything like this," she said.
"We all thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a mix of ages and a mix of sizes. We wanted it to be about real people."
