Create a fund-raising sandwich for the Raigmore Children’s Ward Appeal.
That is the challenge being issued by hospitality and catering group, Cobbs.
The Drumnadrochit-based company, which has cafes across the north of Scotland, including Inverness, is inviting people to submit their favourite sandwich recipe.
The winning combination will be sold as "ARCHIE’S Sandwich" at the company’s outlets this year with 10p from each sale going to the £1 million fund-raising appeal
Launched by the ARCHIE Foundation in conjunction with The Inverness Courier, the aim is to create a more child-centred and family-focused children’s ward.
Willie Cameron is the business development manager for Cobbs, which staged a free cake day at its outlets last autumn as part of its on-going commitment to the appeal.
"We want people to come up with a new sandwich — ARCHIE’S Sandwich, which we can sell in our coffee shops for the next year," Mr Cameron said.
"We want unusual but sensible suggestions, and the more Scottish, the better. It could feature local ingredients, reflect the Highlands and be a sandwich which kids will like. It can be brown bread, or white bread."
The winner will receive a voucher to use at Cobbs, which has a bake house at Drumnadrochit plus eight coffee houses and restaurants at a range of locations including the Floral Hall in Inverness, Highland Industrial Supplies in the city’s Seafield Road, the Loch Ness Clansman Hotel and the Loch Ness Country House Hotel.
The others are at Caffé Bleu in Aviemore, Nevisport in Fort William, Sterling Furniture Store in Bridge of Don and Royal Overseas League Clubhouse in Edinburgh.
